Scope of Coverage for State-Subsidized Bovine Life Insurance

Dairy and feeder cattle and buffalos that are registered under the Veterinary Information System (TURKVET) are accepted for insurance purposes following a risk evaluation to be conducted by Tarsim.

This insurance covers insured bovine against the following risks:

  • Any and all animal diseases other than those indicated in Article A.3 Paragraph (a) of the General terms, pregnancies, births or surgical procedures (in the Limited Scope Tariff, all diseases are excluded).
  • Any and all accidents, snake and bug bites
  • All types of natural disasters and heatstrokes

  • Casualties and risk of imperative slaughtering due to fires and explosions and risk of miscarriage for dairy cattle within the framework of Tariffs and Directives

Scope of Coverage for State-Subsidized Ovine Life Insurance

The sheep, goats, rams and billy-goats that are registered with the Veterinary Information System (TURKVET) are accepted for insurance purposes following a risk evaluation to be conducted by Tarsim.

This insurance covers casualties due to the reasons listed below, and the risk of imperative slaughtering due to fires and explosions within the framework of General Terms, Tariffs and Directives, within the scope of the insurance.

  • Any and all animal diseases other than those indicated in Article A.3 Paragraph (a) of the General terms, pregnancies, births or surgical procedures
  • Any and all types of accidents, wild animal attacks, snake and bug bites
  • Poisoning due to poisonous meadow grass or feed
  • All types of natural disasters and heatstrokes
  • Fire or explosion

Scope of Coverage for State-Subsidized Poultry Life Insurance

For poultry that have been raised in an enclosed system in facilities that have biosafety and hygiene measures in place, all deaths, killings and imperative slaughtering that occurs due to the following reasons are included within the scope of the insurance:
  • Any and all kinds of poultry diseases except contagious ones required to be reported according to Veterinary Services, Vegetation Health, Food and Feed Law No. 5996, (all diseases are excluded in the Limited Scope Tariff).
  • Any and all kinds of accidents and poisoning
  • Any and all kinds of natural disasters
  • Fire or explosion

Scope of Coverage for State-Subsidized Beekeeping (Beehives with Bees) Life Insurance

Licence plated, modern and active beehives (with bees inside) that are registered with TURKVET and the Beekeeping Registry System (AKS) are covered by the insurance.
This insurance provides coverage for damages arising due to the following reasons, on active beehives (with bees inside), subject to the General Terms and Conditions and the Tariff and Instructions:
  • Storms
  • Tornados
  • Fires
  • Landslides
  • Earthquakes
  • Vehicle impacts
  • Floods and inundation
  • Wild animal attacks
  • Collisions, impacts, overturnings, catching fire, etc. during the transportation of the beehives (only for mobile beekeeping operations)

Scope of Coverage for State-Subsidized Aquaculture Life Insurance

For aquacultural products cultivated in the sea and inland waters, by taking into consideration the information recorded in the Water Products Registration System (SKS), as well as the risk analysis to be conducted, the mortality risk coverage is provided by the Agricultural Insurance Pool within the scope of the Aquaculture Products Insurance General Terms, Tariff and Directives.

For aquatic products;

  • Contaminations and poisoning outside the control of the producer

What is the rate of the state subsidy in State Subsidized Agricultural Insurance?
50% of the premium is covered by the government in Plant Product Insurances. In fruit products, in addition to the full package coverage and only in freeze coverage, the government covers 2/3 of the premium if additional freeze coverage is obtained.

On the other hand in other In State Subsidized Agricultural Insurance, 50% of the premium stated in the policy is covered by the government.

Where can I get the registration and do the updating processes for State Subsidized Agricultural Insurance?
  • For plant products, the Farmer Registry System updating process is performed with the Provincial and County Directorates of Food, Agriculture and Livestock. (Updates must be performed every year).
  • For greenhouses, registration is made with the Controlled Under Cover Registry System available at the Provincial and District Directorates of Food, Agriculture and Livestock.
  • For aquaculture products: registry updates are made to the Aquaculture Products Registry System held at the Provincial and District Directorates of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock.
  • Animal registry updates; registration and updates are performed on TURKVET.
  • The registration and updates for dairy cattle and buffalos are effected through the Breeding Cattle Growers Association and/or the Provincial or District Directorates of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock.
  • The registration and updates for Male Feeder Cattle and Buffalos are performed at the Provincial and District Directorates of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock.
  • The registration and updates for Sheep and Goats (Sheep, Goat, Rams and Billy Goats) are performed at the Provincial and District Directorates of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock.
How are the estimated premiums assessed prior to the issuance of the policy?
The Estimated Premium assessment can be performed over the Tarsim Web page at (www.tarsim.gov.tr) by using the online premium assessment menu to assess the estimated premium figure. The agricultural insurance premium calculated as explained here is for providing general guidance only and may not always match the premiums assessed for specific parcels during policy issuance.
