State Supported Crop Insurance Coverage

Volume losses incurred due to the following reasons are covered:

  • Hail
  • Windstorm
  • Tornado
  • Fire
  • Landslide
  • Earthquake
  • Floods and inundation
Furthermore, the following exposures may also be covered by the insurance on an optional basis:
  • Volume loss caused by the risk of frost on fruits
  • Hail mesh and overlay systems in fruit orchards and vineyards
  • Quality loss caused by hailstorms on fresh fruits, vegetables and cut flowers

State Supported Greenhouse Insurance Coverage

The risks covered by the insurance are listed below*:
  • Hailstorm
  • Earthquake
  • Vehicle impact

  • Landslide
  • Floods and inundation
  • Snow height and hail weight pressure
* Subject to risk assessment-review process for greenhouse construction materials, technical equipment therein and the plant products grown.
What is the rate of the state subsidy in State Supported Agricultural Insurance?
50% of the premium is covered by the government in Crop Insurances. In fruit products, in addition to the full package coverage and only in freeze coverage, the government covers 2/3 of the premium if additional freeze coverage is obtained.
In other State Supported Agricultural Insurances, 50% of the premium stated in the policy is subsidized by the government.
Where can I get the registration and do the updating processes for State Supported Agricultural Insurance?
•    For plant products, the Farmer Registry System updating process is performed with the Provincial and County Directorates of Food, Agriculture and Livestock  updates must be performed every year).
•    For greenhouses, registration is made with the Controlled Under Cover Registry System available at the Provincial and District Directorates of Food, Agriculture and Livestock.
•    For aquaculture products: registry updates are made to the Aquaculture Products Registry System held at the Provincial and District Directorates of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock.
•    Animal registry updates; registration and updates are performed on TURKVET.
•    The registration and updates for dairy cattle and buffalos are effected through the Fattening Cattle Growers Association and/or the Provincial or District Directorates of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock.
•    The registration and updates for Male Feeder Cattle and Buffalos are performed at the Provincial and District Directorates of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock.
•    The registration and updates for Sheep and Goats (Sheep, Goat, Rams and Male Goats) are performed at the Provincial and District Directorates of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock.
How are the estimated premiums assessed prior to the issuance of the policy?
The Estimated Premium assessment can be performed via Tarsim’s website at www.tarsim.gov.tr by using the online premium assessment menu to assess the estimated premium figure. The agricultural insurance premium calculated as explained here is for providing general guidance only and may not always match the premiums assessed for specific parcels during policy issuance.
