Vehicle Coverage

Various road assistance services (towing, rescue, car door lock, tire replacement and towing as a response to running out of gas) are provided within 0km of permanent residence and the remaining services are provided in line with the scope specified in the “Important Notes” section, provided that they are incurred outside the province of permanent residence, throughout Turkey, remaining parts of Europe and in Mediterranean countries. The services for vehicle door lock, tire replacement and spare part delivery are offered in Turkey only.
Vehicle tow and rescue
In the event the vehicle is rendered immobile through a breakdown, the firm will arrange for its transportation to the nearest KaskoJet service or repair location. Immobility due to an accident, on the other hand, will lead first to its transportation to the nearest KaskoJet service location or the nearest General Service location in the province where the nearest KaskoJet service is located. Should the insured ask for a tow to a service location other than the nearest KaskoJet service, the Firm’s responsibility shall remain in place up to the nearest KaskoJet service.
In the event that the vehicle is rendered immobile due to rolling over or falling into a ditch while cruising on a road, the arrangements required to rescue, and tow thereafter or allow it to resume the cruise, where possible, placing it on a suitable ground, shall be provided up to the limits stipulated on the policy.
This benefit does not entail the payment of any amounts regarding the repairs of the vehicle.
Car door lock service
In cases where it is not possible to get in the vehicle due to a malfunction of the doors of the insured vehicle, loss or theft of keys, or leaving them inside the vehicle, the Firm will cover the travel and labor charges for the locksmith dispatched to open the doors. The Firm will provide this service upon the receipt of a direct request from the Insured stipulated on the policy. All other expenses concerning this service shall be covered by the Insured. In the event the vehicle door cannot be opened, the transportation of the vehicle to the nearest repair shop shall be provided (this coverage is offered exclusively for passenger cars).
Tire change service
In response to tire problems arising while driving the vehicle, the Firm shall dispatch a service provider to replace the tire with the spare tire provided in the vehicle. The Firm will cover the labor cost, whereas the materials used shall be paid for by the Insured. In case the tire cannot be replaced on site, the vehicle’s transportation to the nearest repair shop shall be arranged.
(This coverage is offered for passenger cars only).
Towing of the vehicle in the event of running out of gas
If the vehicle runs out of gas, it shall be towed to the nearest gas station.

Accommodation or travel required due to a vehicle breakdown or accident
In case of a vehicle breakdown or accident, the Firm shall cover one of the following expenses:
a) If the breakdown cannot be repaired within 24 hours, hotel costs (standard room + breakfast) incurred for waiting for the repairs to be completed, at a 4* hotel at most, where available, up to a maximum of 3 days, or;
b) If the repairs extend beyond the 48-hour period following the breakdown, the Firm shall cover the travel expenses incurred by the beneficiaries on their way back to their Permanent Residence, or should the Beneficiaries opt to continue their travel, to the planned destination. However, the costs to be incurred under the latter option should not exceed the costs which would have been incurred for a return to their Permanent Residence.
OR, if the vehicle has remained unrepaired for more than 48 hours following the breakdown, the beneficiaries may opt to rent a comparable vehicle to proceed with their journey. In that case, they will be provided a rental car for a maximum period of 48 hours, subject to the limits specified on the policy for the rental cost.
The rental car will be provided to allow the insured to proceed to the intended destination or return to his/her permanent residence.

Accommodation or travel required due to a vehicle breakdown or accident
If the vehicle has been stolen, the Firm shall provide the benefits offered under Article 5 above, after 24 hours following the theft, provided that the matter has been reported immediately to police.
Transportation and custody and maintenance of the repaired or found vehicle
If the repair to be made after the repair requires the vehicle to remain immobile for more than 72 hours, or in case of car theft, the Firm shall cover the following expenses if the vehicle is found after the Beneficiary leaves the site of theft, as well as after the vehicle is repaired or found:
a) Costs incurred for the transportation of the vehicle to the Beneficiary’s Permanent Residence.
b) Or travel expenses incurred by the Beneficiary or another person he/she may appoint to take the vehicle to her Permanent Residence, up to the location where the vehicle was repaired or was found.
c) Costs incurred for the custody or maintenance of the repaired or found vehicle.
If the cost of repairs of the vehicle exceeds its current market price, the Firm shall not pay any expenses stipulated in Article 7.
Professional driver service
If the driver suffers a condition or accident preventing him/her from driving the vehicle, or in case of his/her death, the Firm shall provide a professional driver to take the persons in the vehicle to their Permanent Residence or any planned travel destination, using the vehicle, provided that none of the persons in the company of the original driver of the vehicle replaces him/her.
Spare part supply and delivery arrangements
In case the spare parts required to achieve the mobility of the vehicle cannot be obtained at the repair location, the Firm shall make the arrangements for finding and dispatching the spare part where available. The cost of the spare part thus obtained shall be paid by the Beneficiary, while the Firm shall cover the shipping. The Firm cannot be held liable for failure or delays in the procurement of the spare part.

Personal Coverage

The Firm will provide these benefits throughout the whole of Turkey and the whole world in line with the coverage tables provided in the “Important Notes” section only if the Beneficiary was outside the province of her Permanent Residence and had been traveling by car for a maximum of 60 consecutive days.
Transportation or return to the place of Permanent Residence in case of the Beneficiary’s illness or injury
If the Beneficiary falls ill or is injured, the Firm shall cover the costs required for the transportation of the Beneficiary to the nearest appropriate medical center, or from one medical center to another, or to her Permanent Residence, using an ambulance or any vehicle deemed the most appropriate by the accompanying doctor and the Firm’s doctor.
Transportation from one medical center to another will be provided only if the current center lacks the equipment and staff required for the treatment required for the patient. For the transportation to take place, a medical report to be issued by the physician providing the treatment will be required. The assistance to be provided will be secondary, rather than primary in nature.
Under no circumstances shall the firm intervene in recovery services required from government authorities during any medical assistance operations. Even if the said service is provided by government authorities or by private firms, the firm will not assume the costs of such services on any occasions. The present coverage shall not apply for treatment expenses.
Transportation of Accompanying Beneficiaries or their Return to their Permanent Residence
If one of the Beneficiaries is unable to continue her travels due to an illness or injury the Firm shall cover the costs for the transportation of the accompanying Beneficiaries to their Residence or to the relevant hospital.
If one of the persons involved is a minor younger than the age of 15 and in the absence of any person to accompany him/her, the Firm shall appoint one individual to accompany the minor to his/her home or to the site of the hospital.
Travel and accommodation for one of the members of the Insured’s family
The Firm shall cover the following costs if the Beneficiary needs to stay at the hospital for more than 5 days:
a) Expenses for travel to the location of the hospital in the Country of Permanent Residence, on an unlimited basis, covering accommodation up to the limits specified on the policy on a daily basis, for up to 5 days (standard bed and breakfast).
b) Expenses for travel to the location of the hospital abroad, on an unlimited basis, covering accommodation up to the limits specified on the policy on a daily basis, for up to 10 days (standard bed and breakfast).
Travel expenses arising in the aftermath of the death of a close relative
a) If the Beneficiary is required to cut her travel short due to the death of a close relative specified as a Beneficiary on the Policy, at the Place of Permanent Residence, the Firm shall arrange the return to the Beneficiary’s Permanent Residence.
This benefit shall be extended only if the Beneficiary is unable to return using the means of transportation employed for the original travel.
b) If one of the Beneficiaries is a child (15-years-old or younger) who does not have anyone to accompany her, the Firm shall provide a companion to assist her during his/her travel to the Place of Permanent Residence.
Medical assistance to be provided to the Beneficiary due to injury or illness outside the Country of Permanent Residence
If the Beneficiary falls ill or gets injured outside the Country of Permanent Residence, the Firm shall cover hospital, surgery and treatment costs and the medicine prescribed by the relevant doctor. The coverage concerning this service shall be subject to the limits specified on the policy for each beneficiary.
A rental car will be provided to allow the insured to proceed to the intended destination or return to his/her permanent residence.(This coverage is offered for passenger cars only).
Extension of the duration of stay due to illness or injury of the Beneficiary outside the Country of Permanent Residence
If the Beneficiary falls ill or is injured outside the Country of Permanent Residence, provided that the Beneficiary’s extended stay outside his/her Place of Permanent Residence is justified by such illness or injury as documented by the relevant doctor, the Firm shall cover the Beneficiary’s hotel and other accommodation costs (standard bed + breakfast). The maximum amount payable shall be subject to the daily maximum limits specified on the policy for up to 5 days.
Transportation of the deceased beneficiary and his/her company
If the Beneficiary passes away, the Firm shall;
a) Arrange the transportation of the body to the Place of Permanent Residence for funeral services.
b) Arrange the return of the Accompanying Beneficiaries to the place of burial or the Place of Permanent Residence.
c) If one of the Beneficiaries is a child (15-years-old or younger) who does not have anyone to accompany him/her, it shall provide a companion to assist him/her during her travel to the Place of Permanent Residence.
The maximum amount payable under this coverage shall be the limits specified on the policy for Turkey, as well as for all other countries. Funeral proceedings and burial costs are not covered.
The benefit stipulated in Sub-paragraph 7(b) shall be available only if the means of transportation utilized for the original travel are unavailable to the Beneficiaries for this purpose.
Medicine Dispatch
The Firm shall arrange the dispatch of medicine prescribed by the relevant doctor on an emergency basis, but unavailable at the destination the Beneficiary has travelled to. The costs of the medicine shall be covered by the Beneficiary, while the Firm shall cover the transportation costs.
Coverage of travel expenses incurred arising from damage to the house
If the Insured’s house is rendered uninhabitable or is damaged excessively due to theft, fire, or explosion, and the Insured is thereby required to return to her residence, the Firm shall cover the costs of the return of one of the Beneficiaries to the Place of Permanent Residence.
This benefit shall be extended only if the Beneficiary is unable to return using the means of transportation employed for the original travel.
Delivery of urgent messages
The Firm, upon the Beneficiary’s request, shall ensure that emergency or required messages regarding issues concerning the items noted above are transmitted.

Luggage Coverage

The following benefits shall be provided only if the Beneficiary is outside the Country of Permanent Residence, up to a maximum of 60 consecutive days.
Finding and delivering luggage and personal belongings to the Insured
The Firm shall assist the Beneficiary in terms of the preparation of the reports and shall provide him/her with recommendations, or take part in the contacts required for the finding of lost luggage.
If the luggage is found, the Firm shall dispatch it to the Place of Permanent Residence or the designated destination of travel.
Luggage lost during scheduled air travel
If the luggage is lost during scheduled international flights and is not found within 24 hours to follow arrival, the Firm shall pay an amount up to the limit stipulated on the policy, provided that the airline’s lost luggage report is submitted and that the Beneficiary submits to the Firm the original copies of the invoices pertaining to the expenses he/she incurred to cover her urgent personal needs.

Legal Coverage

The following benefits shall apply only for the Insured or the Designated Driver on the vehicle specified as the insured vehicle on the policy. Legal assistance shall apply only in European or Mediterranean countries other than Turkey.
Legal Defense
In the case of an accident involving the vehicle, the Firm shall cover the costs of defense for the driver, regarding any crimes involved in the accident. The maximum amount payable under this coverage shall be subject to the limits stipulated on the policy.
Guarantee in legal proceedings
a) The Firm shall deposit the financial bail bond required of the Beneficiary to guarantee the payment of legal costs and expenses incurred during criminal cases arising from traffic accidents involving the Insured Vehicle, at foreign courts.The maximum amount payable under this benefit shall be subject to the limits stipulated on the policy. (As a loan)
b) The Firm shall deposit the bail bond figure demanded of the Designated Driver, for any criminal trials due to the traffic accidents involving the Insured Vehicle.
The maximum amount payable under this benefit shall be subject to the limits stipulated on the policy (as a loan).
The Beneficiary shall be under obligation to return the payments extended under Article 2(a) and 2(b).
Connections regarding information and organization services shall be provided by Tur Assist; the costs regarding the services received shall be paid by the Insured. It is at the Insured’s discretion whether to receive services from the recommended service unit or not. The service unit providing the service shall be directly liable for any issues which may arise with the services received.
Tourism Information
Information on travel, legal requirements applicable to entry to the country, customs procedures and medical arrangements is provided in line with the Insured’s requirements. Information on travel agencies, tourism offices, tourist guides, tourism police, embassies and consulates, visa and passport procedures is provided.
Road, Accident and Weather Reports
At the Insured’s request, information is provided regarding authorized automobile service locations and dealerships, as well as road and accident status in Turkey.
Information on Medical Institutions
At the Insured’s request, the addresses and phone numbers of hospitals, doctors, nurses, on-call pharmacies and ambulance service providers are provided, and arrangements regarding potential cases including funeral transportation and burial services are made.
Information on Transportation Vehicles
At the Insured’s request, addresses and phone numbers of airlines, maritime enterprises, road transportation firms, yacht services, railways, rent-a-car firms (professional driver service) are provided, and reservations are made where available, for these services.
Exchange Rate Details
At the Insured’s request, exchange rates for the past 5 years are provided.
Information on Restaurants and Entertainment Centers
At the Insured’s request, addresses and phone numbers along with detailed information about various restaurants and entertainment centers are provided and reservations are made where available.
Information on Accommodation
At the Insured’s request, information on various types of accommodation is provided and reservations are made where available.
Information on Cultural Activities
At the Insured’s request, information on operas, ballets, concerts, fairs, festivals, theaters and cinemas is provided, and reservations are made where available.
Information on Animal Care?
At the Insured’s request, information on veterinarians, animal hospitals and animal care is provided, and arrangements regarding these services are made where available.
Arrangements for Special Events
Information on relevant firms is provided for birthdays, anniversaries, graduation ceremonies, or seminars, and arrangements are made where available.
Elderly and Child Care Services
At the Insured’s request, information on firms providing elderly and child care services is provided, and arrangements are made where available.
Translation Service
Information on translation offices and services are provided, and arrangements are made where available.
Flower Sending Services
Arrangements are made for flower sending inside and outside Turkey.
Other Information Services
The phone numbers and addresses of gendarmeries, municipalities, ministries, undersecretariats, provincial governments, court houses, state and social security agency hospitals, conscription service offices, banks, media organizations, associations, public prosecutor offices, police departments, newspapers, news agencies, chambers, labor and employment agencies, etc.

Kaskojet Product

Which types of vehicles can get KaskoJet policies?
Second hand or renewal insurances for automobiles and van with more than 3 seats can be covered by KaskoJet policies. In contrast to automobiles, van cannot enjoy all of the coverage elements noted above. Please consult your agency or read the notification form carefully about such coverages.
What is the insurance value of the vehicle? How can I find this out?
The current insurance values of all vehicles in the market are available on the website www.tsb.org. All Insurance firms refer to that site to check the insurance values and assess the insurance coverage figure in the light of their own risk criteria in terms of the extension of the insurance bid.
Does the KaskoJet policy involve any deductibles?
No. The vehicle will be repaired without the application of any deductibles when the vehicle is repaired at KaskoJet Service Stations for any partial damage covered by the KaskoJet insurance. However, if the repairs are performed at a service station other than KaskoJet Service Stations, 20% of the total claim figure shall be deducted from the payable amount, leading to a short payment (this will apply if no deductible was opted for concerning other coverage elements such as earthquakes and flooding).
I’ve lost my original keys. Will the KaskoJet policy cover my claim?
The expenses incurred for the copying of keys, recoding of the alarm and immobilizer, and replacement of the complete key ignition set, incurred to secure your vehicle due to a lost or stolen key shall be covered by the policy subject to a maximum annual and incident limit of TRY 2,000.
My original keys have been stolen. If the person who stole them finds my vehicle near my door and takes it away, will KaskoJet cover my claim?
Claims arising due to the theft or attempted theft of your vehicle using the original key shall be covered provided that the key was stolen or was attempted to be stolen in an armed robbery or an invasion of locked or closed homes/businesses where the key was stored. (Invasion of a space refers to gaining access to such space through the use of the original key, which was lost or wrongfully obtained, or creating a make-up key, or using other tools or passwords to break or open locks, by punching holes or demolishing or knocking down walls, forcing, murdering, causing injury, using force or violence, or threats, or using tools, equipment, or physical agility).
Will KaskoJet coverage remain in place if I entrust my vehicle to a parking lot officer/valet service?
Claims arising due to the stealing of a vehicle entrusted to a parking lot or a valet in consideration of a delivery document shall also be covered. However, joint insurance principles shall apply with 85% of the claim covered by the insurer and 15% covered by the insured. If the parking lot where the risk had occurred has sufficient 3rd Party Financial Liability policy coverage and is a taxpayer whose exit and entry from operations are registered, the Insurer guarantees 100% of the claim figure.
I was just a few meters away with the key in the ignition. My car was stolen at that time. Will KaskoJet cover the claim?
If the vehicle is stolen due to the key being left inside, or by misleading and deceiving the insured to gain his/her approval, the applicable claim shall not be covered.
I always keep a couple of personal belongings in my vehicle. Will KaskoJet cover any related claim should they be damaged during a theft or accident?
Your personal belongings left in your vehicle shall be covered up to a total figure of TRY 1,000 per year, against claims of theft or damage in any covered accident. If the subject matter of the claim is a cell phone or a laptop, the maximum amount payable for such items shall be TRY 500 out of the full figure of TRY 1,000. The items and time frames where such coverage shall not apply are stated below.
Items and risks that shall not be covered under the present policy are stated below: Any claims regarding jewelry, antiques, cash, stocks, bonds, bearer cheques, notes, credit card contents and relevant legal suspension charges are not covered.This coverage shall apply only for items left in the vehicle in the time frame 07:00-22:00. The insurance coverage shall not apply for any time frame outside this window.
I have a 6-years-old vehicle. I bought a KaskoJet policy. Brand new parts were installed during the repairs. Will I pay any margins for the replacement parts (as the old parts have been replaced with new ones)?
The claim shall be paid in full without deducting the increase in the value of the car due to the repairs out of the claim figure to be established as a result of the claim. However, a maximum value increase deduction of 50% shall be applied taking into consideration the term of use of the consumables or parts with a limited life, such as tires, batteries, exhausts and catalytic converters.(without prejudice to any other exemption provisions your policy may include).
I don’t know the insurance value in TRY for my vehicle. The KaskoJet policy notes “Current Value” as the vehicle value. What does that mean?
Current value refers to the vehicle’s market value as of the date of claim. Our firm provides coverage for your vehicle, up to its current market value. This will ensure that you do not face under-insurance problems. However, if special deductible provisions were set at the policy issuance stage, in the case of any complete damage, the deductible provisions stipulated in the policy shall be applied and deducted from the payable claim figure using the current market value.
What is the procedure for setting the Current Value for the KaskoJet product?
The current value of the vehicle shall be stipulated in the Adjuster Report as the conclusion of market research to be carried out by the Insurance Adjuster.
I have installed special accessories on my car since the initial purchase. Will these be covered by the KaskoJet policy as well?
Only the original audio and video devices and accessories included in the standard equipment of the vehicle shall be covered automatically without further specification. Any additional accessories or equipment installed on the car at the request of the insured shall be covered only in case their brand name, type and price are noted on the policy.
The CD player radio-tape on my vehicle was stolen. I had a new one installed. Will it also be covered by the KaskoJet policy?
Your insurance limit shall be reduced by the amount payable for any claim arising due to the theft of any audio-video systems or accessories in your vehicle, regardless of them being original equipment or not. The replacement device shall be covered provided that their brand name and type, as well as price, is specified as is the case with the initial insurance application.

Kaskojet No Claim Bonus

Will the discount I am entitled to in my existing policy apply for the KaskoJet policy as well?
Your insurance limit shall be reduced by the amount payable for any claim arising due to the theft of any audio-video systems or accessories in your vehicle, regardless of them being original equipment or not. The replacement device shall be covered provided that their brand name and type, as well as price, is specified as is the case with the initial insurance application.
Will the discount I am entitled to in my existing policy apply for the KaskoJet policy as well?

The number of years without any claims at the other insurance firm shall be taken into account. The discount figure matching that term in our Firm’s tariff shall apply to your policy. The discount rates are as follows. For each year without claims;

  • 30% discount for any renewal at the end of a no-claims term of one year.
  • 40% discount for any renewal at the end of a no-claims term of two years.
  • 50% discount for any renewal at the end of a no-claims term of three years.
  • 60% discount for any renewal at the end of a no-claims term of four years or more.
I had an accident during the motor insurance policy term. But 100% of the fault belongs to the driver of the other vehicle. Will my discount entitlement be reset for the KaskoJet product?
If the insurer is provided the means for 100% recourse by the insurance holder documenting the fact that the counter-party is responsible for 100% of the fault, the no-claims discount entitlement shall not be upset.
The CD player installed on my vehicle was stolen. Will that claim affect the no-claims discount I am entitled to with my KaskoJet policy?

If the audio-video devices on your vehicle are stolen and if your policy is not subjected to any other claim during the policy term, your no-claims discount will not be affected.

I have made regular renewals for 5 years and had no claims during that period. My no-claims discount is 60%. This year, I had one body damage claim. Will the no-claims discount rate on my KaskoJet policy be affected?
Provided that the vehicle is serviced only at KaskoJet Service Stations, one car insurance claim arising (with the exception of total damage and theft) other than just one radio-tape or windshield claims, or any claims with 100% recourse rate, shall not affect the discount rate at the time of renewal by Mapfre Sigorta A.?. of the policy for Insured persons who are entitled to 40%, 50%, or 60% no-claims discount; the discount rate specified on the policy shall be used for renewal. In case of servicing at other service stations, the discount rate shall be reduced by one tier.
The windshield of my car has cracked. If I have it repaired at Windshield Repair Stations with Tur Assist Contracts, will my no-claims discount be affected?
If you have a broken front, back or side windshield without any further claims during the policy term, the no-claims discount will not be disrupted. If you have the windshield replaced at a service station other than KaskoJet Service Stations or Windshield Service Stations with Tur Assist Contracts, you will be required to cover 15% of the claim figure. Please make sure to work with specified service stations to prevent any problems.

I had my vehicle repaired at a location other than KaskoJet service locations. Will my claim be covered?
A discount (deductible) rate of 20% (twenty percent) shall apply to the claim figure payable for damage repair services made at service locations other than KaskoJet service locations (without prejudice to any other deductible provision stipulated in the policy). Please use KaskoJet service locations to prevent any problems.
Who will oversee the claims procedures at KaskoJet service locations?
From the moment you bring your vehicle to KaskoJet service locations, all claims procedures will be handled by your Insurer and the KaskoJet service officials working in coordination. All you need to do is to collect your vehicle after the repairs.
Are the spare parts used during the repairs at KaskoJet service locations originals?
All spare parts used during the repairs at KaskoJet service locations are original parts. If an original replacement for the part required to be replacement is not available in the inventories of the manufacturer/importer, or if the part requiring replacement is found not to be an original, an equivalent part may be used instead.

Kaskojet Backup Vehicle Service

Will KaskoJet provide me with a back-up vehicle in case of an accident?
In the case of partial damages requiring repairs taking longer than 24 hours, KaskoJet service locations assign you a back-up vehicle for the duration of the repairs.
I took my car to a place other than KaskoJet Service locations for repairs. Will I still be able to receive unlimited back-up vehicles?
Back-up vehicles shall be provided for up to 7 days in case the service location used in lieu of KaskoJet service locations is one of the other service locations contracted by Mapfre Sigorta, and for up to 5 days in other cases. You should get your windshield fixed at Windshield Service Locations with TUR ASSIST Contracts. Otherwise, your claim will be covered with a 15% deductible on the repair charge. The windshield of my car has cracked. If I have it repaired at Windshield Repair Stations with Tur Assist Contracts, will my no-claims discount be affected?
If you have a broken front, back or side windshield without any further claims during the policy term, the no-claims discount will not be disrupted. If you have the windshield replaced at a service station other than KaskoJet Service Stations or Windshield Service Stations with Tur Assist Contracts, you will be required to cover 15% of the claim figure. Please make sure to work with specified service stations to prevent any problems.

Does my KaskoJet policy include mini repair coverage?
Damages under the following size and quantity limits can be repaired at the GENERAL SERVICE Stations all of which are KaskoJet Service Locations, and named with contact details on the policy. Services provided thus shall not disrupt the no-claims discount.
Which claims are covered by the Mini Repairs that do not disrupt the no-claims discount?
Body dent repairs upon paint damage (up to three times per year): Crushes, dents, and scratches up to a diameter of 15cm, inflicted on the paint.
Body dent repairs without paint damage (up to three times per year): Body dents up to a diameter of 7.50cm, without paint damage.
Paint Repairs / Mini Patch (up to three times per year): Plastic bumper scratches up to a diameter of 30cm; body scratches caused by scores, up to 30cm.
