Road Safety and Accident Prevention
Encouraging Safe Mobility from an Early Age
We believe that road safety is one of the most important factors directly affecting quality of life. Therefore, we aim to encourage safe mobility across different segments of society, from children to adults, raise awareness of road safety, and promote the adoption of safe behaviors and habits.
Şehrin Akıllı Çocukları
Şehrin Akıllı Çocukları is a road safety education project implemented since 2021 under the Traffic Responsibility Movement, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education and our foundation, Fundación Mapfre.
Through this project, we aim to raise awareness among fourth-grade primary school students about road safety, help them develop safe behavioral habits, and support them in making responsible decisions in their daily lives. By actively involving teachers and families in the educational process, we seek to extend the culture of road safety from schools into homes.
As part of the program’s hands-on learning components, students design models of the safe and smart cities they envision, while road safety-themed art competitions encourage them to express their awareness through creative work. In this way, we provide a holistic learning experience that enables children to put their knowledge into practice while developing problem-solving and design-thinking skills.
To date, the Şehrin Akıllı Çocukları Project has reached:
* 1,100 schools
* 5,823 teachers
* 173,259 students
* 346,518 family members
As of 2026, the project is being implemented in 27 provinces across Türkiye. By 2029, we aim to expand the program to all 81 provinces, enabling even more children to benefit from this road safety education initiative.
