Do any age limits apply for purchasing Critical Illnes Insurance?

The Life-Threatening Conditions Insurance can be purchased between the ages of 20 and 65.

Do any geographic restrictions apply in terms of enjoying coverage?
The coverage applies worldwide. In the event that the conditions covered by the policy have been diagnosed in any country other than Turkey, you will be entitled to coverage under the insurance provided that you submit documents attesting your presence in the country of treatment on the said date.
How will the claims be paid?
Life-Threatening Conditions claims can be paid with the proviso that you have completely and accurately filled out the preliminary information form and medical declaration within the framework of the General Terms of Medical Insurance and Special Terms of Life-Threatening Conditions Insurance. The conditions covered by the policy should be made subject to a claim within a maximum of 6 months following the date of diagnosis. The claim figure is paid 30 days following a coronary bypass operation, 30 days following the submission of the permanent neurological damage certificate in case of strokes, or 30 days following the date of diagnosis in the case of other conditions covered. A postponement period of one month is stipulated after diagnosis.
What is a waiting period?

Postponement period refers to the timeframe required for you to be entitled to the insurance benefit stipulated in the policy after being diagnosed with a life-threatening condition. Beneficiaries shall not be paid claims in case of your death within the said postponement period. The postponement period in question is 1 month.

Which documents are required for the payment of the claim?

For the claim to be paid the following documents should be submitted in full to us.

  • Original copy of the policy.
  • Copy of civil registry ID.
  • Medical certificate and the diagnosis results that serve as the basis of the diagnosis.
  • Reports of examinations to be applied by the hospitals or specialists specified by us (MAPFRE SİGORTA), and in certain cases, copies of diagnosis results, tape records, the diagnoses themselves, etc.
  • The condition information sheet you will fill out
  • The medical review form filled out by your doctor, and the hospitals or specialists to be specified by us (MAPFRE SİGORTA), should it be required at the stage of claims review.
  • Medical details and reviews that may be required during the claims review, even if not specified here.
